The most prestigious results
The 53rd European Universal Trench Championships concluded with a remarkable performance for the Italian National Team, led by Coach Sandro Polsinelli. On the platforms of the Sociedad Valenciana de Caza y Tiro, the Azzurri won a total of eight medals: four gold, one silver, and three bronze. The most prestigious result in the individual competition came in the Ladies' standings, courtesy of Bianca Revello of Bernezzo (Cuneo), who successfully defended the Continental Title she had won in the previous edition of the continental event. The Italian athlete once again became the European Ladies' Champion with a score of 187/200, finishing ahead of Spain's Eva Clemente del Cerro, who finished second with 185/200. Rachele Amighetti of Costa Volpino (Bergamo) further added Italian color to the women's podium, taking the bronze medal with 183/200.
Head to head
Revello and Amighetti returned to the top step of the podium in the team competition, along with Stefania Oliva of Sarre (Aosta). The Italian trio scored 548/600, ahead of Spain, second with 522/600, and France, third with 509/600. Another individual medal came from the Masters Qualification, where Giorgio Borrione of Andorno Micca (Biella) took silver with 183/200. Victory went to Spain's Manuel Gonzalez Perez with 185/200, while France's Michel Mannoni took third with 180/200. Borrione also took gold in the Masters team competition. Together with Antonino Buda of Messina and Giorgio Ravera of Borgio Verezzi (SV), the Italian contributed to the total of 531/600, a result that allowed Italy to precede the Spanish team, second with 528/600.
Rich medal collection
A gold medal also came from the Junior team. Davide Antonio Rossi of Sanfrè (Cuneo), Matteo Bruno of Cavallermaggiore (Cuneo), and Daniel Peroni of Ronco all'Adige (Verona) won the European Team Championship with a score of 548/600. The Italian team finished ahead of Spain, who finished second with a score of 546/600, and Great Britain, who finished third with a score of 543/600. The Veterans Team, made up of Roberto Coppiello, Mario De Donato, and Maurizio Lupo, took bronze with a total of 532/600. Portugal took first place with a score of 555/600, while France finished second with a score of 554/600. The Italian medal tally was also enhanced by the bronze medal won by the Senior team composed of Graziano Cazzaniga of Agrate Brianza (Monza and Brianza), Luciano Fiorini Carbognin of Montecchia di Crosara (Verona), and Pietro Zecchi of Pioltello (Milan). The trio finished the competition with 560/600, behind France, European Champions with 572/600, and Spain, second with 569/600 (source: FITAV).
