State of readiness
Sunday 3 May Universal Trench The Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting Championship returned to the spotlight at the weekend with the 2nd Grand Prix of the 2026 season. The competition involved a total of 320 specialists in the "five machines" who took to the platforms at the Tav Sporting Club Zevio (VR), Tav Carisio (VC), Tav Interdonato (ME), Tav La Cicogna (FG), and Tav Castelfidardo (AN). The event offered an important indication of the sector's state of preparation for upcoming international events, with rankings decided in some cases only after a play-off.
The largest number of participants
The facility with the highest attendance was the Tav Sporting Club Zevio, with 83 competitors. Alessandro Camisotti of Porto Viro (RO) won the Excellence category with a score of 97/100. Among the Ladies, Rachele Amighetti of Costa Volpino (BG) won with a score of 92/100, ahead of Sara Milesi of Borgo di Terzo (BG) with a score of 90/100 and Cristina Marzollo of Boara Pisani (PD) with a score of 85/100. In the Junior category, Daniel Peroni of Ronco all'Adige (VR) won with a score of 93/100, followed by Lorenzo Canova of Adria (RO) with a score of 91/100 and Diego Isac Pinton of Cadoneghe (PD) with a score of 80/100. In the other rankings, first places went to Daniele Bertolini from Brentonico (TN) in the First Category with 99/100, Luigino Viale from Campagna Lupia (VE) in the Second with 93/100, Federico Guglielmi from Alonte (VI) in the Third with 90/100, Roberto Favalli from Salò (BS) among the Seniors with 97/100, Roberto Coppiello from Vigonza (PD) among the Veterans with 96/100 and Angelo Priante from Veronella (VR) among the Masters with 82/100.
Carisio TAV
At the Tav Carisio, where 79 participants participated, the Excellence ranking awarded Stefano Narducci of Altopascio (LU) with 95/100, ahead of Mirko Tumiatti of Borgo Vercelli (VC) with 94/100 and Ivan Rossi of Cento (FE) with 89/100. In the Ladies' category, Stefania Oliva of Sarre (AO) won with 94/100, followed by Bianca Revello of Bernezzo (CN) with 86/100 and Serena Caminotto of Fubine Monferrato (AL) with 82/100+21. Among the Juniors, victory went to Davide Antonio Rossi of Sanfrè (CN) with 94/100, ahead of Matteo Bruno of Cavallermaggiore (CN) with 87/100 and Christian Peuto of Spotorno (SV) with 76/100. Fernando Albanese stood out in the First Category with a score of 96/100, Leonardo Benassi of Pietrasanta (LU) in the Second Category with a score of 93/100+25, and Matteo Colombo of Busto Arsizio (VA) in the Third Category with a score of 90/100. Among the Seniors, success went to Stefano Pavan of Pogliano Milanese (MI) with a score of 94/100, among the Veterans to Livio Elli of Nova Milanese (MB) with a score of 95/100, and among the Masters to Giorgio Bottigella of Mortara (PV) with a score of 92/100.
Interdonato TAV
Sixty-six shooters competed on the platforms of the Tav Interdonato. In the Excellence category, a shoot-off was necessary to determine first place, which went to Vincenzo Triscari of Naso (ME) with 94/100+24, ahead of Adriano Avveduto of Modica (RG), who placed second with 94/100+22. Maurizio Annaloro of Palermo took third place with 93/100. In the Ladies category, Manuela Tomarchio of Santa Venerina (CT) won with 38/100. In the Junior category, gold went to Luca Baldo Annaloro of Palermo with 85/100, followed by Rosario Carmelo Parisi of Catania with 84/100 and Angelo Licciardello of Acireale (CT) with 78/100. In the First Category, victory went to Domenico Cannizzaro of Reggio Calabria with 93/100, in the Second Category to Raffaele Monterosso of Sant'Eufemia d'Aspromonte (RC) with 88/100+22, and in the Third Category to Angelo Alario of Caltagirone (CT) with 88/100+23. Among the Seniors, first place went to Maurizio Annaloro of Palermo with 93/100, among the Veterans Francesco Pollicino of Messina with 92/100, and among the Masters Calogero Gibiino of Catania with 86/100.
The Stork High-Speed Train
At the Tav La Cicogna, which hosted 53 shooters, Vincenza Starita of Sant'Agnello (NA) took first place in the Ladies' category with a score of 82/100. Among the Juniors, Simone Boccanfuso of Barano d'Ischia (NA) won with a score of 87/100, ahead of Walter Bleve of Gagliano del Capo (LE) with a score of 72/100 and Guadalupe Lamagna of Andria (BT) with a score of 62/100. In the First Category, victory went to Alessio Colò of Patrica (FR) with a score of 90/100, in the Second Category to Biagio Palmese of Pomigliano d'Arco (NA) with a score of 88/100+1 and in Third Category to Giuseppe Loporchio of Ascoli Satriano (FG) with a score of 78/100. Among the Seniors the best was Vincenzo Sorda from Foggia with 93/100, among the Veterans Mario De Donato from Naples with 89/100, while among the Masters Palmiro Menoni from Maglie (LE) won with 78/100.
Castelfidardo TAV
The weekend of competitions concluded with the Tav Castelfidardo, which welcomed 39 competitors. In the Excellence category, victory went to Niccolò Triglia of Fano (PU) with 96/100, ahead of Roberto Zallocco of Potenza Picena (MC) with 95/100. In the Ladies' category, Giulia Vernata of Magione (PG) won with 89/100, followed by Roberta Pelosi of Rome with 88/100 and Eugenia Valente of Fiumicino (RM) with 74/100. In the First Category, success went to Giovanni Natalini of Serrapetrona (MC) with 93/100, in the Second Category to Pierluigi Tombari of Colli al Metauro (PU) with 91/100 and in the Third Category to Maurizio Lombardi of Ravenna with 87/100. Among the Seniors, the best result was that of Massimo Croce of Guidonia Montecelio (RM) with 98/100, while among the Veterans, Alfio Pedini of Fano (PU) took first place, also with 98/100. Finally, among the Masters, first place went to Mauro Abati of Cesena (FC) with 82/100 (source: FITAV).
