"In the next Rural development program we will dedicate a line of financing tomountain farming. We are talking about a heroic practice, which enhances the quality of our raw materials and which has a strong social and environmental value ". This was stated by the regional councilor for Agriculture, Food and Green Systems Fabio Rolfi, who, this morning, together with the regional councilor Simona Pedrazzi, visited the 'Marinelli Bombardieri' refuge in the Municipality of Lanzada (SO), in Valmalenco, and three mountain huts in the area.
"Mountain agriculture must also be enhanced from an economic point of view - added Rolfi -, providing these areas with services related to mobility and logistics, primarily cycling, to make the world known our extraordinary mountain products". "In 2019 we gave priority to mountain settlements in the measure for young farmers, we allocated 4,5 million euros to mountain communities to support agriculture, we approved the guidelines for assigning mountain huts to mountain people and earmarked 7,5 million for the wood and wood supply chain ”continued the commissioner, recalling how“ the 2026 Olympics will be an exceptional showcase for Valtellina wines and food products ”.
“It is imperative to link mountain agricultural production more and more to tourism, to environmental use and sports practice - he concluded -: today the offer food and wine it is increasingly an element of tourism and this symbiosis can represent, if adequately supported, a concrete way of development for the agricultural mountain ”.
