A shameful gesture of incivility, an act of vandalism against the ACR-Onlus National Convention to be held in Vicenza on 23 December 2011.
On the night between 20 and 21 December 2011, at the entrance to the conference room of the Cloisters of Santa Corona in Vicenza, unknown persons who signed themselves 100% animal rights, smeared the walls by putting up two posters and a banner bearing offensive messages and even wishing the death, addressed to some of the speakers who on December 23 will take part in the national conference organized by the Association for the Defense and Promotion of Rural Culture - Onlus entitled "The activities carrying rural culture: what do they represent in numerical, economic, occupational, social and cultural ".
Hon. Sergio Berlato, one of the subjects to whom the delusional message is addressed and President of the Association for the Defense and Promotion of Rural Culture - Onlus, commented: "We are deeply indignant and worried to acknowledge that there are still those who defend the his position uses similar methods, even going so far as to wish the death of people ”.
"We have already submitted a formal complaint to the Police - explains Berlato - to identify those responsible for this vile gesture, also asking for adequate protection for the many people who will be present in Vicenza on the morning of the Symposium which will see among the speakers the main exponents of the categories carrying rural culture ”.
“In light of these facts, we are even more convinced of the need to make public opinion understand what the activities carrying rural culture represent and for this reason we renew our invitation to the press to participate in this important event. There is a need - concludes Berlato - to contrast any misleading ideology with information and culture that also justifies the use of violence to affirm one's ideas ”.
