A rejection without appeal. The opinion expressed by Luciano Santa, president of the provincial section of Federcaccia Venice, against the hunting calendar 2016-2017 approved by the regional council a little less than two weeks ago. As reported by The New Venice, Babbo believes that this document has canceled the decisions taken in recent years by the shareholders' meetings of the Territorial Areas of Hunting.
The choices made so far, in fact, had given due consideration to the consistency from the faunal point of view and also the seasonality of the agricultural sector (grapes and soy in primis). What they like least about the calendar are the fixed days of hunting (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday), which limit the autonomy of the hunting activity, without forgetting the diversification of timetables for sedentary game.
The hunt will be closed in many ATCs at 13pm or 14pm in the period from the third Sunday in September to the third Sunday in October, a limitation that cannot be tolerated. Santa wondered what has changed in the past year to have such a result. A signature collection committee is about to be set up to call a referendum to repeal article 842 of the Civil Code ("Hunting and Fishing"), putting an end to popular hunting, another cause for concern.
