Hunting: Veneto, councilor Sergio Berlato presents five questions to the Regional Council on hunting wildlife.
Rapid approval and publication of the 2015/2016 Regional Hunting Calendar, replacement of the regional hunting card, application of the regime provided for by the European Directive with regard to hunting notwithstanding some species of migratory birds, modification of the rule for stalking for hunting use, new proposal for a regional wildlife hunting plan. These are the subjects of five questions that the councilor Sergio Berlato presented to the council in view of the first session of the regional council. In the first question, the councilor urged the council to approve and publish the regional hunting calendar for the 2015/2016 hunting season as soon as possible, a task which, he underlines, "the previous council should have fulfilled by June 15 last".
In the second question, the council is invited to replace, as early as next season, the regional hunting card imposed on hunters, "whose difficult compilation - writes Berlato - has caused many problems for hunters citizens, inducing them to commit a series of involuntary errors that they have exposed them to the heavy penalties provided for by the regulations in force ".
And again we invite you to apply, already from the next hunting season, the derogation regime provided for by the Community Directive 2009/147 / EC and Article 19bis of the state law n. 157/92, against some species of migratory birds which, "in addition to being the object of traditional hunts strongly rooted in the Veneto area, represent a real calamity to the detriment of agricultural crops".
In the fourth question the council is urged to activate the procedure for the cancellation of the four regional laws and the relative four resolutions of the council concerning the problem of hunting stalks, replacing everything with a clear and simple rule which, establishing the precariousness of stalking for hunting purposes, does not oblige the owners to observe a series of building and landscape requirements, equating stalking to homes.
Finally, with the fifth question, we invite you to submit a new proposal for a Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan, which does not distort the existing one, but which is limited to updating it due to changes, both territorial and regulatory, which have occurred from 2007 to today. "I presented these five questions - declares Berlato - in a constructive and participatory attitude, with the perspective and spirit of maximum collaboration with the regional council, confident that this new administration will be able to restore serenity to all those who want to ensure correct management of the wildlife and environmental heritage in our region, equating the Venetian hunters, in rights and duties, with the other seven and a half million European hunters ”.
