Hunting in Veneto: the Italcaccia Hunting Association writes to the President of the Region, Luca Zaia, asking that the proxies on the hunt for councilor Daniele Stival be withdrawn.
Hunting in Veneto: in recent days the Italcaccia Hunting Association has sent a letter to the President of the Region, Luca Zaia, requesting that the proxies on the hunt for councilor Daniele Stival be withdrawn, due to all that the Venetian hunters have been forced to suffer in the last three years.
Below is the text of the letter sent by Italcaccia Veneto to President Zaia:
"
For the Regional Council
Dear Sir,
the hunters of our Region in the last three years have experienced a situation of great confusion, exposed to continuous risks both for the traditional hunting season and for hunts in derogation. In practice they have been seriously damaged economically and socially, as they have paid handsomely in advance taxes and membership fees without having seen their rights respected, indicated as a category not sensitive to the problems of the environment and the protection of birds. The hunters witnessed the drafting of absurd Hunters' Calendars, seasoned with the most varied and picturesque delegations to the Provinces without being consulted, often subject to a relationship of non-collaboration with the councilor Stival.
We want to remember that hunters are honest, responsible citizens and because they love hunting more sensitive and respectful of the environment, as well as excellent connoisseurs and vigilant of their territory, open to dialogue and comparison. For a long time the hunting associations were made fun of by the councilor, and promises were made to their leaders that were never kept. The suspension of hunting last season is due to the technical lack of preparation of the councilor Stival who has prepared a hunting calendar without the necessary technical-scientific documentation.
The hunting world lost its hunts in derogation last season, in an unjustified way; the hunters ask that they be restored as soon as possible, because they have always been a heritage of Venetian culture. It is not true that Europe prohibits hunts by way of derogation, it only reiterates that they must be respectful of the Community norm, and therefore legitimate and despite this the Councilor preferred not to grant thousands of hunters in the Veneto what they were entitled to, after countless promises .
As if that weren't enough, the next Regional Wildlife Plan provides for further penalties for hunters in the Veneto region and for some historical forms of hunting, with a proposal for an exclusively anti-hunting approach that does not meet the needs of the Veneto Hunting World. Mr. President, Veneto needs capable and prepared managers who deal with the vast and delicate subject of hunting and if possible sensitive and willing to open up to new hunting management proposals and not superficial and bizarre people like the current councilor Stival.
President Zaia, the Italcaccia del Veneto Association expresses great esteem and sympathy in his person. Hereby, the undersigned Gianni Garbujo, on behalf of the Italcaccia Regional Council, is to request the immediate withdrawal of the proxies on the hunt for Councilor Stival, for the overall inadequacy to manage his mandate, entrusting it to a person who first of all loves hunting and that he is prepared on the subject, putting an end to the illegitimate penalties that the Veneto hunting world has suffered in all these last years.
I thank you for your attention and awaiting your positive response, on behalf of the Italcaccia Veneto Regional Council, I offer you my most cordial and sincere greetings.
Montebelluna, January 31, 2013
The Regional President
Gianni Garbujo
