Hunting in Veneto: the TAR of Veneto accepts the requests for suspension of the regional hunting calendar advanced by animal rights associations.
The judges of the Veneto Regional Administrative Court have decided to comply with the requests of the animal welfare associations regarding the suspension of the 2012-2013 Regional Hunting Calendar; tomorrow, 5 October, the details of the precautionary decree number 603/2012 which suspends hunting activities will be made public.
In the meantime, the Region will only be able to wait until October 30th to assert its reasons during the evaluation in the council chamber, by the judges of the TAR, of the appeal presented by the animal rights activists of Lav, Wwf, Lipu, Lac and Legambiente adverse the Venetian Hunting Calendar in the parts concerning the hunting of about twenty species of birds, including skylark, garganey and quail, as well as the hunting of some species in a period considered pre-nuptial or in periods in which the chicks would still be in the process of addiction to adults.
Obvious satisfaction of the animal rights activists, first of all the MEP of IDV, Adrea Zanoni who commented on the decision of the TAR, "Victory against the far west hunting of the Zaia junta slave to the hunters lobby".
Continuing Zanoni affirmed, “This is an unexpected and sensational victory against the greed of hunters, a victory that brings the entire Venetian hunting season to its knees and condemns the entire Zaia junta which approved the calendar”.
Finally Zanoni concluded “Now we await the details that will be published tomorrow. I hope that the Zaia junta will surrender in the face of the evidence of the illegitimacy of the Hunting Calendar that they wrote with their eyes closed under the dictation of the hunters' lobby ”.
