Veneto, the law on fixed hunting stalks arrives in the Regional Council

After the favorable opinion of the Third Commission, there is an important examination: the proposal introduces very specific dimensions.

In two days, Wednesday 9 March 2016, in Veneto Regional Council the law on fixed hunting stalks will be enacted. This is the Bill number 117 which has been prepared to modify the Regional Law 50 of 1993 (“Regulations for the protection of wildlife and for hunting”). Already on 24 February the Third Commission was convened to examine the text, now it is necessary to understand what will change compared to the past. The report of the law refers to the various types of stalking for hunting purposes which have been historically exploited in Veneto. We are talking, for example, of temporary stalking, those used for the selection of ungulates, stalking for hunting aquatic in the lagoon and valley area, precarious and fixed stalking for which the authorization of the provinces is needed. .

The law proposal immediately had the aim of regulating the new ones state provisions, with two articles summarizing the news. The first talks about the insertion of a new article in the Regional Law of 1993, 20 quater: based on the latter, the authorization of fixed postings represents a building and landscape permit, as well as an essential condition for the arrangement of the site and the installation of fixed posts that are functional to the activity for the entire duration of the authorization.

Furthermore, these stalking must not permanently alter the state of the places, they must have precarious nature and must be built in wood, using light materials or materials typical of the area. Alternatively they are accepted iron structures and prefabricated buildings, to be removed when the authorization expires. As for the maximum dimensions, the posts set up on the ground must not exceed 12 square meters of base and 3 meters in height from the walking surface; the stalks for hunting wood pigeons must have an equal base and a maximum height not exceeding the foliage of the trees.

The second article of the proposal, then, underlines how this legislation does not involve any type of expense or additional burden for the Veneto Region. The LAC (Lega Abolizione Caccia) remembered Wednesday's appointment today, according to which the national law will be distorted through the cancellation of building and landscape restrictions for stalking. The League also criticized the dimensions chosen, compared to those of a "small house that will upset and deteriorate the landscape". Finally, it was highlighted the fact that the new system will make it possible to bypass the municipalities holding building permits.
