The Circolo Ars Venandi proposes the seventh edition of the “Giacomo Rosini” Prize, a Literary Competition for hunting tales open to writers of all languages of the Alps. The Literary Prize is dedicated to the memory and work of Giacomo Rosini, for what he was able to do to give dignity to those who practice the art of hunting with passion and skills. Hunting is one of the traditional activities, shared and experienced by the Alpine populations through the same experiences; in the mountains, as Mario Rigoni Stern teaches, hunters and shepherds know no boundaries and know how to communicate emotions and feelings above language barriers.
The events of women and men in the mountains, their relationship with the territory, animals and hunting are the themes on which participants are asked to express themselves in a comparison between different mother tongues. The study and enhancement of the relationship between man and animal in a mountain environment is promoted through the literary prize for biennial fiction. The tale is intended as a tool for transmitting positive values, even in oral forms; it was and still is an important moment of cultural and civil growth for the whole community.
The competition, by its natural vocation, wants to be an instrument of dialogue and not of competition, albeit with due recognition for the most significant stories and for literary talent. In fact, three stories will be awarded equally. The best gratification for the participants will be the publication of the winning stories in a single multilingual volume which will become the tangible testimony of an original literary event with a European dimension.
The deadline for the presentation of the stories is set for January 31, 2013. The award ceremony will take place in Riva del Garda on March 23, 2013 at 18.00 pm at the Exhibition Center. The “Giacomo Rosini” literary prize is promoted and organized by Ars Venandi, together with the Italian Federation of Hunting and Riva del Garda Fiere Congressi.
