The Webinar organized by the CCT on the theme of National Forest Strategy. A new important forest planning document of national value, approved for the first time in our country by the Ministry, and to which the actions and interventions by realize in our woods, with consequent possible effects on the fauna that populates them. 30 million euros already available in 2022 to reach a total allocation of 420, constitute a unique opportunity, also for the Tuscan hunting world, to act on our territories and on wildlife management.
Dr. Riccardi Burresi, representing the Tuscany Region explained how the SFN represents a great opportunity not only from the point of view of resources but also from the point of view of biodiversity and coordination between the various institutions. The hunting world can and must take on a leading role in terms of wildlife management. Dr. Michael Bottazzo, in his detailed intervention also touched on the more technical aspects of the aforementioned strategy, thus helping to identify the main actions to be applied in the various territorial realities.
“Among the numerous interventions that can be carried out in favor of a renewed and growing biodiversity is that of enhancement of the marginal ecotones of wooded areas, fundamental to numerous species also of hunting interest, which together with the creation of clearings and wetlands can represent an important resource. The coach of ATC Siena NORD Dr. Gambassi has instead taken over the fundamental role of ATCs in what could be the application of these new measures, recommending to the Region to work for the simplification of the implementation procedures of forest management practices. ATCs will also be able to play a role of coordination of actions by collecting applications and technically assisting farmers for environmental improvements.
Roberto Vivarelli of the ATC Toscani Coordination has grasped the practical aspects that involve hunters as the first protagonists of the funistic-territorial management also in the forestry sector. The ATCs are therefore available to ensure that this historic occasion does not remain mere paper. In fact, in ATC 3, experiences of enhancement and restoration of uncultivated woodlands have already been activated, which they have favored the reduction of damage from ungulates in the surrounding area, and created favorable conditions for the reproduction of sedentary fauna and for the stopping of the migratory one.
In the coming weeks these and other issues will be resumed with the commitment, also on the part of our Structure, to actively support any Specific Projects also through an organizational work within the ATC, going to constitute together with all stakeholders an operational table for the implementation of the aforementioned measures (source: CCT).
