THEANUUMigrators has published one new weekly note relating to the Pass and the surveys of theFEIN Ornithological Observatory of Arosio. As explained by the association, the hopes that had been held for the song thrush gradually faded over the week 17 from October to 23. Most likely the birds gave their maximum in late September and in the first ten days of October, now giving way to redwing.
The apparitions of the latter are still sporadic and there have been three ringings which however confirm its presence. Siskin and flounder were also "presented" and in some areas of Northern Italy there have been reports of finches and groups of brambles. In Arosio, then, the frosone was confirmed, as well as the scarcity of finches, while the presences of the little boy and the blackcap were judged excellent.
There are few examples of black nannies, redstart and prispoloni, even if these numbers leave scholars of migratory phenomena perplexed. The ANUU then remarked on the positive news regarding the wood pigeon in Central Italy and those regarding blackbirds and starlings. Finally, teals and pintails were present in good numbers, as well as mallards and moorhens.
