Final ranking
Coldiretti Calabria welcomes the publication of the final ranking relating to the Public Notice for the protection of agricultural crops and stabled livestock, approved with the Management Decree no. 8112 of 5 June 2025. An intervention, within the scope of Measure 4.1.1 of the PSR Calabria 2014-2022, which makes 39 million euros available to support agricultural companies, increasingly under pressure, committed to defending their work from wildlife attacks. Concrete help in purchasing fences, deterrents and other protection tools.
Unsustainable pressure
"It is an important signal - says Coldiretti Calabria - that rewards a part of our claims carried forward with a mobilization activity throughout the national and regional territory. Every day, farmers are forced to live with unsustainable pressure from wild boars and other invasive species.

But the problem, Coldiretti reports, cannot be solved only with passive defense. Damage to crops, livestock and road safety continues to grow at an alarming rate. It is therefore essential to accelerate the overall operation of the extraordinary plan, in particular all necessary actions must be activated to enable hunter farmers, already equipped with a hunting license and well aware of the dynamics of the territory, to play the role of "bioregulators". Allowing them to intervene directly and promptly is today an indispensable measure, without which the emergency will continue to compromise the sustainability of agricultural production. At the same time, the activity of the selection control teams must also become more incisive, continuous and effective, eliminating bureaucratic obstacles and improving operational coordination. "Rural Calabria cannot remain hostage to wild boars - concludes Coldiretti.
