"The park is invaded by wild boars and was asked for a abatement plan because with their uncontrolled proliferation they are devastating the fauna and flora of the protected area ». These are the words written in black and white by the president of the Aspromonte National Park (province of Reggio Calabria), Leo Autelitenus, which admits the difficulty in managing a phenomenon that is developing throughout the region and that causes a lot of damage. Crops ruined, badly damaged but above all land management problems.
This is why Autelitano had called for a plan to kill these animals. A chaotic situation that also entails negative financial repercussions to various business owners in the neighboring areas of the Park who have now requested compensation for the damage suffered.
And the requests are many and continue to arrive so much that the Park offices are forced to monitor the situation to understand the actual extent of the problem which risks exploding in all its gravity also due to the blocking of activities in recent months in correspondence with the outbreak of the coronavirus health emergency (Gazzetta del Sud).
