Unforeseen situation
The Saturday just passed was not at all a quiet one at the airport of Caselle Torinese. A wild boar, in fact, managed to reach the area of the landing strip, with all the worries and risks that can be imagined. The episode occurred in the early hours of the morning, when the ungulate overcame the nets and the barbed wire, a situation that had never occurred before.
Hijacked flight
Fortunately, some passers-by and technicians at the Piedmont airport noticed the presence of the wild animal. To manage it, it was necessary to divert a flight that was arriving from Brindisi and that was supposed to land at Caselle: instead, they opted for Milan Malpensa, with passengers forced to reach Turin by shuttle.
The return to normality
The wild boar was instead removed by technicians from SAGAT (Società Azionaria Gestione Aeroporto Torino), the company that manages the Turin airport: according to what was leaked, the ungulate was rather confused but there were no other repercussions, indeed the situation quickly returned to normal.
