The boar hunting season has been extended in the provinces of Savona and Imperia. In Savona the deadline passes from December 31st to January 29th.
A decision taken by the Province of Savona in consideration of the number of animals killed so far. The wild boars to be killed had been established in 8.065, while, up to mid-December, almost 4 thousand were killed.
The hunt for ungulates can be carried out by teams on Sunday and Wednesday and by authorized individuals on Monday and Thursday, until January 29th or when the limit of animals is reached.
The same choice in running in the car of the hunters was that adopted by the Province of Imperia, in fact, having acknowledged the failure to reach the predetermined quota for the slaughter of wild boars and considering the persistence of the problem relating to damage to agricultural crops, pursuant to art. 35, paragraph 1, of Regional Law no. 29/1994 and the provincial regulation, with a managerial provision of 22.12.2014 ordered the continuation of the wild boar hunting in January 2015, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
This decision was taken by the two Provinces in consideration of the fact that this year not even half of the animals considered to be killed have been reached, an obvious and conscious choice in order to partially limit the damage from ungulates, such as wild boars. which for some years have caused a great deal of damage to agriculture.
