Wild boar hunting. New provisions to limit the number of animals in the Upper Garda area. The wild boar alarm has prompted the Province and the mountain community to launch extraordinary measures to contain the species.
In the Alto Garda the colonies of wild boars are more and more numerous and dangerous. Their approach to the paths and mountains frequented by tourists, the damage to the environment and to agricultural crops caused by the species is increasingly large. This is how the Province and the Mountain Community portray the situation. In conclusion. To deal with the alarm boars, the two entities have envisaged extraordinary measures and developed a protocol that will remain in force for 2017.
Good news, therefore, for hunters who will be able to kill animals in the areas of zone 1 of the park (the high end) in the period from 1 June to 31 January, as also provided for by regional legislation. Previously, in that area, wild boar hunting was only allowed in two short periods, 15 days in August and November. «Basically - the president of the Mountain Community Davide Pace commented satisfied - our requests already made two years ago have been acknowledged, which allow the use of hunters at no cost to perform suide sampling, specifically fulfilling the playful aspect of hunting. The presence of these animals cannot and must no longer be considered, obviously within the limits of a technically possible management, compatible with the Park territory. The current situation risks undermining the conservation and improvement needs of ecosystems, as well as having a profound impact on the rural economy of our areas. Something had to be done ».».
The hunting activity in zone 1 will be allowed, however, only to those who have opted for the form of hunting ungulates and are registered in the provincial register of experts in hunting wild boar.
