Swine fever and procedures
An emergency with multiple fronts, from the damage caused to agriculture to the spread of African swine fever, to be addressed quickly, with a simplification of procedures. In summary, this is what emerged from the hearing on wild boar hunting which took place in the Agriculture and Environment commission of the Regional Council of Lazio, chaired by Giulio Zelli. Speakers: Alfio Guarnieri (Anlc Lazio), Giulio Bernardini (Lazio Migration Association), Giuseppe Pilli and Giancarlo Siddera (Arcicaccia Lazio), Antonietta Mechelli (Enal Caccia Lazio), Landolfo di Napoli Rampolla (Eps Lazio), Stefano Tiozzo (Cia) , David Granieri (Coldiretti), Giuseppe Chiarini and Andrea Virgili (Confagricoltura), Guido Colasanti (Copagri Lazio).
Less complicated felling
The hearing revealed a general appreciation for the first measures implemented by the department, with a policy resolution and the rapid intervention plan, but also the need to approve a regulation that allows simpler procedures for killing wild boars. No conflict between farmers and hunters was underlined. Coordinated and homogeneous action is needed across the entire territory, taking into account the peculiarities of the different areas. Arcicaccia raised the problem of the commissionership of the territorial areas, asking that the commissioners stick to their functions.
Convergence of ideas
A request which was also referred to in his speech by councilor Enrico Tiero (FdI), who recalled how the department had already intervened in this sense, canceling some decisions of the commissioners, and hoped for "a return to ordinary management in a short time, with the participation of the associations. We are doing positive work on wild boar hunting, I am convinced that the hunting world will help the territories." A judgment also shared by president Zelli, who underlined "the convergence of ideas. We are living in an emergency situation and we need exceptional tools" (source: Lazio Regional Council).
