La hunting season 2018-2019 in Umbria it began amid a thousand legal difficulties as regards the pre-opening and now we must deal with a new controversy. The problem is represented by the difference in money that the wild boar hunters of the Perugia 1 Hunting Territorial Area have to pay for the killing. This is 25 euros more than the 250-300 which every year supports the wild boar team. The same goes for ATC Terni 3.
In the latter case, however, the increase was differentiated, with increases ranging from 5 to 34 euro depending on the hunting district. The controversy between Umbrian hunting areas and associations is therefore very heated. The same associations have raised their voices on the tariff increases that were motivated by greater damage caused by wildlife and which are compensated by the ATCs. The compensation is based on the quotas and the annual contribution of the Umbria Region.
During 2017, the damage to agricultural crops in this area was economically quantified in 700mila euros. The money of the local authority does not seem to be enough and the hunters can no longer bear having to make up the difference. The beginning of the hunting activity was tiring and stormy, this further discussion is likely to poison the climate even more.
