As disclosed by the Lombardy region, the resolution was approved on the “Determinations regarding the hunting of wild boar in provincial territory of Lecco". Thus opens the hunting ungulates in the Lecco area: Antonio Rossi, Regional Councilor for Sport, and Daniele Nava, Undersecretary for Institutional Reforms, commented with satisfaction on the vote, recalling how Lombardy is affected by a real emergency.
The beginning of the sampling represents one of those interventions that is considered useful for the numerical containment of the species. The main thanks were addressed to John Fava, Councilor for Agriculture, and to the regional councilor Antonello Formenti, in particular for the motion presented last summer.
As also in other parts of Italy, wild boars are causing untold damage to farms, but they are also dangerous for biodiversity and transport safety. In the province of Lecco, numerical control has so far only been ensured with reductive containment, while hunting had always been excluded. Now it has been decided to turn the page, in the hope of limiting the exponential growth of this problem as much as possible.
