Wild boar hunting: Reggio Calabria, a course for team leader in the hunting to wild boar in hunt.
This morning, at Palazzo Foti, the course for team leader was presented at the wild boar hunting, which in Reggio Calabria will start tomorrow and will end next weekend. Established training courses for foreman to hunt wild boar in hunt: this is the initiative presented this morning at Palazzo Foti and carried out by the ATC under the solicitation of the provincial administration. For the next two weekends, in fact, at the Palazzo della Provincia located in the district of Spirito Santo, in Reggio Calabria, the aforementioned course will take place, free of charge and lasting a total of 26 hours. At the end of the lessons, 103 teams will be formed, with as many team leaders, who will be issued with an ISPRA certification certificate. Already since 2010, as it was transmitted this morning, there was a strong need to give a semblance of legality to this type of hunting, also considering the various differences existing between hunters. Each team, through a new agreement that everyone will have to respect, will have 300 hectares of land available; Furthermore, the attendance register has been established: each hunter, before going out on a hunting trip, must sign and each team must be composed of a minimum of 12 members.
The course will focus on topics ranging from biology, wildlife-hunting planning, to aspects related to weapons, ballistics and dogs. It is important to underline the value of teachers with specific and qualified experience; among them also a veterinarian whose lessons will be in line with the regulation established by the Calabria Region for the protection of environmental fauna.
"Hunting, and especially this type of hunting, must be done by competent people - began the president of ATC 1, Concepts Laganà - the provincial administration has shown itself to be very sensitive to the hunting world: precisely at the request of the councilor Gaetano Rao, we wanted to establish these courses, which have already begun in the Tyrrhenian area and consolidated starting tomorrow in Reggio Calabria. Guaranteeing the protection of health for those who go hunting is one of the primary objectives, paying attention to the fact that wild boar hunting is one of the most dangerous ".
And on the sometimes tragic implications that these hunting expeditions have had in the past, the Councilor for Agriculture of the Province of Reggio Calabria Gaetano Rao also intervened: "I strongly wanted to establish these courses - he said - By being the foremen, who must be accompanied by special clothing and possess a regular card, the order that was previously lacking has been established. The provincial administration, as far as the hunting area is concerned, has moved a lot in the territory since 2005-2006 until today, even if we have to take advantage of the funds available ".
Therefore, the most ready and trained hunters for the next boar hunting season (remember that you can hunt from 1st October to 31st December). “In the collective imagination - added finally the president of the Province, Giuseppe Raffa - hunters represent the antithesis to environmentalists, but this is not the case: the two experiences, in fact, can walk in synergy. The particular type of hunting we are talking about today can be seen as a preventive form, considering the damage that wild boars cause to the territory. The hunter, therefore, is fully involved in the overall project of re-establishing an environmental balance. Obviously, hunting must be done in conditions of maximum safety, and that is why we have invested a lot in the sector, even in a difficult historical moment such as that of the police station. Improving the level of employment - concludes Raffa - working in synergy, focusing on training, these are the elements that must push us to always go forward ”.
