La wild boar hunting is dividing the Terni section of the Italian Federation of Hunting andTerritorial Hunting Area TR3. As reported by Umbria and Surroundings, Federcaccia itself is contrary to the regulation imposed by the ATC as regards the containment of the ungulate in the Terni and Orvieto areas. The alarm was raised.
The association is convinced that these rules allow farmers and landowners to decide when to intervene, also choosing the people for the collection of wild boars. Such a solution is not shared, as it would introduce the dangerous principle of the owner's responsibility for intervention, delegitimizing the hunting associations. The president of Federcaccia Terni, Giulio Piccioni, already denounced the complex situation of the Umbrian ATC months ago, so much so that the representatives have long since retired.
Furthermore, management problems were worsened by the transfer of competences from provinces to regions. The right regulation for the federation it should be organic and uniform, in order to manage wild boars throughout the region. Another contested principle is that game is private property. This is why the association asked a leaner and less bureaucratized road, capable of solving the problem of hunting surveillance and involving hunters and all other actors with identical responsibilities.
