On 2 August, therefore five days ago, the Regional Council ofEmilia Romagna met to examine article 11 of the Regional Law number 14 of last July 18th. We are talking about the administration of attractive trophic sources in the wild boar selection hunting: the council has tried to understand how to best regulate this use concerning the levy in force from April 15th to January 31st, as foreseen by the regional hunting calendar.
To make selection hunting effective, it is necessary to optimally manage the use of attractive food sources towards the firing point: without these sources, in fact, the potential of the sampling is drastically reduced. The practice must not become a source of livelihood and to attract wild boars, no more than one feeding point must be set up every 50 hectares of surface of the territorial unit of management.
In addition, only grain maize should be used, without forgetting that food administration should be suspended once the hunt is over or when the authorized killing is completed. The maximum quantity of grain, then, must not exceed one kilo in weight. The violation of these provisions involves the application of the sanctions provided for by the legislation in force.
