Two wild boars, an unknown number of foxes and even a badger have been spotted in recent weeks on the green coast of Cavallino-Treporti. Massacres of chickens and devastated fields, but also an important sign of the healthiness of the environment. Monday evening, a little before 21pm, the wild boar alarm went off on the coastal roads because many residents between Ca 'Ballarin and Ca' Pasquali spotted two large boars running around in the middle of the cultivated expanses and private courtyards in search of food.
The municipal administration was immediately notified and alerted the carabinieri and the provincial police so that they were made safe, representing a danger above all for the circulation of vehicles. Fatal fate instead had the rate that was hit a few nights ago on the bridge that separates Jesolo from Cavallino-Treporti. These species, coming from mountain environments, have gone as far as the sea, finding a sort of terminus in the coast, perhaps attracted by the vast protected areas covered with pine forests that flow, like a natural corridor, directly on unique habitats such as the marine environment and the Venice lagoon.
The sudden return of wild animals, which had not been seen for years in Cavallino-Treporti, provoked opposite reactions among the residents. Those who have suffered damage to property, such as the managers of chicken farms exterminated by the nocturnal raids of the foxes, or the direct farmers of the farms scattered with holes by wild boars, call for a capture intervention that brings back these animals where they come from. The rest of the population rejoiced instead for this novelty that evokes an uncontaminated nature (New Venice).
