"If this intention were confirmed in practice," the statement from Confagricoltura Liguria continues, "we would be faced with an inconceivable and unacceptable stance that, among other things, makes it increasingly difficult to put in place precise and timely regulations for the management of the 'wild boar meat supply chain'—a real problem, evidently, for hunters who appear more interested in this than in safeguarding the land and its activities at a critical time such as that of managing the chronic ASF emergency in the Genoa and part of the Savona area."
Hunt in the red zone
"Certainly - De Michelis continues - on the contrary to the above, we know perfectly well that the rules for hunting in the PSA red zone are very stringent and cumbersome, however we would not have expected a drastic decision of the hunters, such as not to carry out hunting activity, but rather an awareness of how hunting especially in this area would exercise a fundamental role in safeguarding the territory and all the economic activities existing there, heavily penalized by almost a year in the red zone ". It would seem that a playful - recreational activity, such as hunting, can and should only be exercised if one is not obliged to dispose of wild boars as provided for in the PSA area.
The requests of Confagricoltura
"For some time - Confagricoltura Liguria reiterates - we have not only asked for the timely regulation of the wild boar meat supply chain, but also the need, year by year, for a shift of teams between performing areas, with respect to the assigned quotas, and areas where these results are chronically are not obtained ".
