Streamlining of procedures, elimination of costs for hunters, increase in the number of members per team. These are some of the changes to the regional directives for the management and hunting of wild boar approved by Regional Council of Basilicata, on the proposal of the Vice President and Councilor for Agricultural and Forestry Policies, Francesco Fanelli.
Among the most important innovations is the elimination of the 10 euro fee owed by hunters for hunting wild boar, the possibility of presenting a simple self-certification in place of a whole series of documents, the doubling of the maximum number of hunters per team (increased from 20 to 40) and for the municipalities of Potenza and Matera also the increase of the minimum number of hunters per group (from 10 to 15). "Accepting the observations made by the hunting associations, we have decided to modify and integrate the regional directives for the management and hunting of wild boar.
In particular - affirms the vice president Fanelli - we have eliminated the costs borne by the hunters, aware of the useful service performed by them in favor of the regional community. The surplus of ungulates present on our territory causes, in fact, direct and indirect damage to agricultural and forestry crops and represents a significant risk factor for the safety of people, especially in relation to road accidents ". Again with a view to simplification, the deadline for submitting applications to be able to apply has been extended to next 30 August exercise hunting wild boar (Source: Basilicata region).
