The provincial section of Bari di Confagricoltura again made its voice heard about the excessive number of wild boars in Alta Murgia National Park. The agricultural association has asked for the full application of the control rules, also the selective one, in the areas outside the natural area, reviewing the containment implemented so far.
The hope, therefore, is that any form of control will apply, includingselective killing supervised by the managing body. The problem should not be underestimated, given that the damage to crops has increased and the guests of the agritourism structures are at risk as regards their safety. Moreover, a worker at work in a vineyard was hit by a wild boar, showing a laceration sutured with several stitches.
Confagricoltura is reflecting on this overcrowding: the Bari section does not accept that the presence of ungulates in the Apulian territory is tolerated, especially after what has been defined as a "Irresponsible liberation". Finally, those responsible for wildlife were urged to block the proliferation of the species once and for all: Confagricoltura Bari hopes that even the bloody forms, the latest targeted stabilization ratio.
