AIW, the Italian Association for Wilderness, expresses in a letter its approval for the amendments to Law 157/92 on the discipline of hunting made by decree law no.91 of 24 June 2014, "only the" cicciai "and there are no hunters with a capital C ”.
Below is the content of the letter from the Italian Association for Wilderness ":

Subject: Official Gazette (GU General Series n.144 of 24-6-2014) the provisions of article 16 of law decree n.91 of 24 June 2014 "Urgent provisions for the agricultural sector, environmental protection, relating to changes made to 157/92.
As the AIW Delegate for the Province of Modena and as a Hunter, in the name of VENATORY ETHICS and the correct management of wildlife resources in full respect of the Wild Fauna, I enthusiastically applaud the amendment of the law of 11 February 1992, n. 157 just entered into force.
The text of the amending law states: ART. 16 (Amendments to law no. 11 of 1992 February 157, containing rules for the protection of homeothermic wildlife and for hunting. Infringement procedure 2014/2006, Case EU-Pilot 4634/13 / ENVI, Case EU-Pilot 5391 / 13 / E1TE1 - 1. The following amendments are made to the law of 11 January 1992, n. 157: The following sentence is added to article 13, paragraph 1, of the law of 11 February 1992, n. 157: «The magazines of the rifled-bore semi-automatic repeating rifles used in hunting cannot contain more than two cartridges.».
Finally, during the jokes, hunts and turns, deafening and dangerous bursts of shots will no longer be heard at the herd of wild boars that parade to the post office, because the three and no more ten (or fifteen or twenty ...) shots at The Hunter's disposition must be carefully thought out. Given that, as far as I am concerned, the new legislation allows the use of one more shot than necessary, it will certainly not be the Hunters (those with a capital "C") that will gnaw their guts due to the decreased volume of fire. never sufficiently reviled forest raiders, unable to understand that hunting does not correspond at all to a war fought against huntable game. These "cicciai" demean the noble Ars Venandi by reducing the activity allowed to them by the administrative authorization which they often abuse when pulling the trigger to kill as much game as possible.
The Italian Association for Wilderness (AIW) has always fought for the conservation of natural environments and the Fauna that populate them, considering the Hunters worthy of this appellation among the most attentive and active subjects dedicated to the protection of wilderness (Wilderness for the Americans) and that is why they do not take sectarian and preconceived positions towards the Hunt. On the other hand, Hunters certainly could not perpetuate their passion if wild species were exterminated and extinct. Do not forget the historically established fact that the danger of extinction of wild species has always depended on political and / or industrial reasons (eg: the slaughter of bison to starve the American Indians and of the whales to supply the fish markets of the Japan), certainly not from the practice of hunting improperly called "sport".
Therefore, the Legislator, by imposing weighting, prudence and continence in the use of weapons, especially, if not essentially, in the exercise of collective hunts, has certainly induced greater respect to the indispensable Hunting Ethics which represents, in tradition, the first and most important source of legislation for those who are authentically Hunter. The irreducible ones of the "burst shooting", immediately evaluate the risk connected to the expedients to be implemented to be crafty, because the use of prohibited means in the hunting action involves criminal penalties, to the delight of the lawyers who will be called to carry out the defense by collecting large fees.
