" Umbria Region will transfer additional resources to the three territorial hunting areas to allow the liquidation of 100% of the damage caused to agriculture by wildlife in the year 2020. The deed was formalized this morning with a resolution of the regional council with an allocation of around 256 thousand euros overall, to fully cover the ascertained needs ". This was announced by the Councilor for Agriculture and Hunting, Roberto Morroni. “The damages verified - specifies the commissioner - have been quantified by the Management Committees of Territorial Areas of Hunting. They are damage conditioned, directly and indirectly, by the limitations of the hunting activity imposed by the health emergency from Covid-19, with the consequent contraction of calendar days which did not allow, therefore, to intervene in accordance with the management and containment plans envisaged ".
This choice of full compensation - underlines Morroni - arises precisely from the consideration of the impediments to the exercise of the hunting activity and at the same time testifies to the attention of the Regional Executive both towards the agricultural world and the wild boar teams which, by virtue of this extraordinary intervention of the Executive, are economically exempt from the payment of contributions. "Following on from what was announced in the Third Council Committee of the Legislative Assembly - the commissioner still declares - I confirm with this deed the commitment undertaken by the Department and the Regional Council to intervene with additional resources compared to the allocations already foreseen, so as to guarantee the ATCs the full compensation to be allocated to companies for the damage suffered to agricultural and forest crops due to wild fauna and, in particular, to the wild boar species ".
“The assignment of additional resources to the ATCs for the settlement of refreshments to companies in the primary sector - he concludes Roberto Morroni - is part of an articulated program of activities that the Department carries out in sharing its intentions with the Atc themselves, with the organizations of the agricultural and hunting world, through extraordinary actions to strengthen measures aimed at reducing the excessive presence of wild boars in the territory, the sustainable management of the species and, consequently, the prevention of damage to crops and risks to public safety "(Source: Umbria Region).
