Enrico Morando, Deputy Minister of Economy, spoke in Strambino (province of Turin) on the occasion of the national conference Arch Hunting on wildlife. As reported byAGI, number two of Via XX Settembre spoke of the Framework Law 157 of 1992, the Hunting Law, judging it to be a good text that “inspires the relationship between farming, hunting and environmental protection”.
Morando also said some maintenance might be needed, but the law should not be changed as it isotherwise there is only a risk of deterioration. The conference, also organized by the UNA Foundation (Man Nature Environment), served to investigate the main faunal and environmental issues. Remo Calcagno, president of the provincial section of Arci Caccia Torino, stressed that the extreme positions and demagogicism of some environmentalists are not useful, but even those in favor of hunting.
He also took the floor Giorgio Ferrero, Regional Councilor for Agriculture, according to which "balanced dialogue is the correct way in which we relate between the parties". Finally, Renzo Ruggia, vice president of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) Environmental Protection Commission, wished the disappearance of any form of gratuitous violence: in his opinion, hunting is not transmissible from an ethical point of view and a discussion on this issue is needed.
