It was signed, between Basilicata region and the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Ispra), the agreement for the preparation of the regional wildlife-hunting plan (Pfvr). “This is the main programming tool through which the Region defines its own guidelines with regard to the purposes and objectives of wildlife management and the regulation of hunting. Although it represents a document of fundamental importance for the entire regional territory, in Basilicata the Wildlife-hunting plan hasn't been updated since 1997.
After the approval of the regional guidelines for hunting wildlife planning - explains the vice president and councilor for agricultural, food and forestry policies Francesco Fanelli - the agreement with Ispra, lasting one year, represents another decisive step for the drafting of the plan, as it will allow us to speed up the drafting procedures, so that we can provide adequate responses to all interested parties, from hunters to agricultural entrepreneurs and breeders ".
The convention provides close collaboration between the research institute and the Directorate General for agricultural, food and forestry policies, for the creation of the vocational cards of species of management and conservation interest and of the regional wildlife-hunting plan, the coordination of wildlife censuses and the drafting of guidelines for wildlife management.
Specifically, Ispra undertakes to contribute to the formulation of the regional wildlife-hunting plan by supporting the competent Directorate on a scientific level and cooperate with protected areas, taking care of their involvement, for the purpose of finding information that enriches the reference database of Pfvr. For its part, the Basilicata Region, among other activities, will set up a dedicated working group in which Ispra and officials of the competent regional offices will participate. on hunting wildlife and protected areas.
