Mr Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of Lombardy (Brothers of Italy), commented on the recent sentence of the Milan Regional Administrative Court on the hunting calendar for the 2022-2023 season. Here are his statements: "The Lombardy Tar has definitively rejected the appeal of the Lac against the "Supplementary provisions to the 2022/2023 regional hunting calendar". The appeal was deemed UNFOUNDED because the Lac did not challenge the Resolution of the Board which contained the additions, but limited itself to challenging the Decree of the Directorate General for Agriculture".
Mazzali he then continued: “The battle had begun on 8 September and the Lombardy Region did everything to preserve the hunting season. There have been precautionary suspensions over the last few months, but in the end there was nothing to be done for all the requests under appeal. “Even if a sentence was pronounced annulling decree no. 8349/2022 - observes the Tar -, the provisions contained in the DGR 6497/2022 and the LR 17/200 would remain in force".
Finally, the adviser he underlined: “We can say: VICTORY!! ️ There shouldn't even have been a battle, but we know that animal rights associations contest the hunting calendar every year, even regardless of objective evidence. We will always be on the barricades, every year. But let's not be scared, let's move forward with the strength of those who are on the right side".
