The flaws of the resolution
The recent resolution of the Regional Council, prepared by the competent offices of the Tuscany Region on the derogation withdrawal of the transfer species is certainly the result of a lack of prior concertation. We regret to note that the resolution provides not only for a reduction in the maximum number of transfers that can be collected (from 25.000 in 2022) to the current 20.000 expected, but also for the mandatory use of the digital hunting card Toscaccia App, for reporting on culled animals. This provision finds our firmest opposition due to the undeniable consequences and penalties that could be determined on a large number of hunters who engage in this type of sampling, even in non-specialist terms and for the elderly.
Digital hunting card
The choice made by the Tuscany Region therefore appears to be rejected in terms of method (absence of consultation and preventive comparison) and in merit, since for some time now, the digital hunting card has had as an alternative the possibility of paper reporting by the hunter. In the past hunting season, hundreds of hunters opted for this method, guaranteeing transparency in the numbers of slaughter and respect for the maximum quota of animals that could be taken.
The paper alternative
For these reasons, Federcaccia Toscana UCT, asks the Region for a necessary modification to the Resolution in question, in which to provide, as for past seasons, the alternative of paper reporting, for the reversal species. An appeal to common sense that we will re-propose again also on the occasion of the next consultations on the regional hunting calendar, in the hope that we can reach the desired change in the next few days (The Fidc-UCT Secretariat).
