Appointment for June 30th
The recent events of the bear JJ4 and the ever more consistent presence of wolves in highly anthropized areas have generated a strong alarm both in those who see these large predators as a threat to humans, and, conversely, in those who see the man as a threat to them. The conference, organized by theCa 'Foscari University of Venice (Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage – Master in Administration and Management of Wildlife; Department of Economics – Master in Environmental and Land Law) in collaboration with the University of Sassari (Master's degree course in Wildlife Management and Control Conservation), scheduled for 30 June from 9.00 to 17.30, goes off the rails of the ideological clash between opposing factions and aims to lay the scientific foundations for making informed choices from a biological and legal point of view.
The concept of sustainability
Hence the title that combines the rules of nature with the rules of law, according to an interdisciplinary perspective necessary to address these problems. Furthermore, the title reveals a reading of the concept of sustainability not only as a limit, but essentially as a guide to human action. The conference, for the topics covered and for the speakers, chosen for their scientific caliber and institutional role, aims to build the reference points for every future decision.
Binding opinions
Among the speakers present: the President of the Tar Trento, Fulvio Rocco who suspended the orders for the killing of the bear JJ4; the head of the binding opinions issued by Ispra, Piero Genovesi the scientific head of the reintroduction of the bear in Trentino, Andrea Mustoni and the most qualified scholars in the subjects most directly involved in the question, namely biology and law (source: Federcaccia).
