Security level
A statement by the Hon. Piero De Luca, leader of the Democratic Party in the EU Policies Committee of the Chamber, was collected in a note released by AGI. “Yesterday's vote in the EU Policies Committee of the Chamber did not approve any new norm on wolf in Italy – said De Luca – For months the EU Commission has been developing a proposal to modify the level of protection of the wolf throughout Europe. A procedural opinion was given yesterday in the Commission on this proposal, since the legislative proposals of the EU Commission can be analyzed in technical compliance with the principle of subsidiarity for matters of non-exclusive competence of the Union”.
Specific obligations
“According to Protocol No. 2 annexed to the Treaty of Lisbon,” the PD Group Leader continued his explanation, “in the preparation of each legislative proposal in these matters, the EU Commission must respect specific obligations: consultations, opinions, analytical sheets on subsidiarity, impact assessments. All steps that have not been carried out correctly.,” he continued, “Without going into the merits of the reform of the Habitats Directive, which is not the responsibility of the EU Policies Committee of the Chamber, as the PD, we have contested the right-wing reconstruction of the lack of formal critical issues in the proposal.”
EU Commission
"Our goal was to solicit the attention of the EU Commission to avoid the risk that the next legislative path between the EU Parliament and the Council is affected. As usual, the right prefers a press release, that one is ideological, peppered with smoke and political attack, to serious and concrete work in the institutions to address the issues with seriousness and balance" concluded De Luca.
