Le woodcocks baptized "Fabrizia" from Calabria, Riostella and Ravenna 1 from Romagna, began their migratory flight, precisely on 9 March for the woodcock Fabrizia, while for Riostella the departure was on 10 March and for Ravenna 1 on 19 of the same month.
An unexpected signal came from a woodcock marked last year in Liguria, precisely the woodcock called "Ponzano", which signaled its presence in Hungary, but it was possible to trace the wintering place, Liguria again, and the date beginning of migration which was on 10 March.
Moving within borders
The woodcock that left Calabria is now found in Romania, while the "Romagna" ones are found one in Serbia (Ravenna 1) and the other (Riostella) in the province of Vicenza, with a shift within the Italian borders. Still a few subjects remain in Italy for the winter, while for those matches we point out the arrival in Ukraine of the “Conero extra” woodcock, marked in the Marche Region (source: Federcaccia).
