On the occasion of world biodiversity day 2020, dedicated to the theme "Our food, our health and our biodiversity", UNA Onlus Foundation (Man, Nature, Environment) intends to highlight the urgency of a return to the protection of biodiversity, on the sidelines of a period, that of the lockdown, which necessarily affected the failure to control natural balances.
In fact, one of the most significant threats to the protection of biodiversity was represented by damage to the agricultural sector resulting from the uncontrolled management of wildlife. The hunting activity constitutes a fundamental aid to agriculture in this context, as necessary to regulate the balance and allow agricultural crops to grow healthily and safely. The management interventions on fauna, carried out by hunters, main actors in the protection of biodiversity, therefore represent for the UNA Foundation an essential element for the protection of the agricultural sector, allowing farmers to carry out their work safely and in the best conditions.
In this regard, the Foundation has contributed through projects aimed at wildlife census, to enhance the balance between flora and fauna, al relaunching the food chain of game in the kitchen, recovering now obsolete traditions and working on the enhancement and control of the game supply chain, seeking new and solid traceability criteria.
Taking the opportunity of the world day dedicated to biodiversity, the UNA Foundation intends to renew its commitment and that of the hunting world represented in it in making return the territory to live in a sustainable system, precisely at this moment when the increased awareness of the close connection between human action and environmental impact, highlighted by the current pandemic, has brought the environmental issue back to the center of the social debate.
FOUNDATION ONE
UNA Foundation through a new environmental chain, made up of sometimes conflicting realities, is committed to the protection and management of nature, contributing to the well-being of the community. In fact, environmental, agricultural and hunting realities converge, together with scientific and academic ones, which by sharing common objectives and collaborating around concrete projects, act synergistically towards the shared aim of creating a sustainable territorial and environmental context. One of the foundations of the UNA Foundation is the protection of biodiversity through its active commitment to addressing and seeking solutions to emergencies that threaten its balance, through the implementation of targeted activities and projects.
