Thirtieth edition
The 30th Muzzle Loading World Championship Valeggio (VR) ended today, Saturday 31 August, with the bronze of Sergio Magnani. The gold is missing for Italy, but it obtained the gold of the organization and, why not?, of the hospitality. The German team wins the medal table ahead of Switzerland and France. The echoes of the last races of the World Championship are now dead and the fifth day of the 30th World Championship of muzzle loading at the shooting range Valeggio, in the province of Verona, with the definitive results of yesterday and the last specialties that do not belong to the program of the Muzzle loaders associations International confederation-MLAIC. At the end of an intense week, the president of the National Confederation of the Arquebusiers-CNDA, Gianmario Delvò, would like to thank "all the CNDA staff who accompanied me, supported me and put up with me in this wonderful adventure and thanks to Marco Pasini for always believing in it, together with me, against everything and everyone. I am extremely satisfied with how the event was managed, the staff was fundamental to winning the bet. I hope that the goal achieved by the CNDA can relaunch the harquebusier movement in Italy. We have also obtained significant results from a competitive point of view despite many shooters being also involved in the organization”.

The organization is definitely up to par
Gerda Lejeune, newly elected MLAIC general secretary, draws a flattering balance at the end of the World Championship. “The shooting range was well set up, comfortable, with excellent services and general cleanliness, despite the heat. The organization was more than up to par. There could have been perhaps more shooters, at least a hundred, but certainly the situation”. A final note for the success of the Italian replicas: out of 1.273 performances, 443 were obtained using weapons produced by Davide Pedersoli (with numerous victories) and 67 by the other sponsor of the Championship, specialized in handguns, Uberti. The appointment for the international muzzle-loading is for next year in Barcelos, Portugal, where the European Championship will be held, while in 2026 the next World Championship is scheduled for Eisenstadt, Austria (source: UITS).
