THEISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation, the World Shooting Federation) has rejected the recent accusations made by the vice president Luciano Rossi, who lashed out at the shooting program of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Rossi, number one of the FITAV, sent a letter to all the federations that are part of the ISSF, suggesting the discussion of theuse of laser by the secretary general as possible future of sport shooting.
The world federation wanted to underline how these statements are devoid of any foundation, even if the laser debate really exists and the general secretary himself has received several questions from the International Olympic Committee. The ISSF authorities, however, explained that there are no lasers to be used for shooting e the federation will never support such a scenario.
There was also talk of secret agreements and discussions relating to the abolition of firearms at the Olympic Games, but this accusation was also returned to the sender. The ISSF recommendation for the Tokyo Olympics is that the shooting program is developed and decided by an ad hoc committee, as well as approved by the Executive Committee of the Federation and the Administrative Council.
