FLIGHT SHOOTING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Italians on the Podium in the Fossa Olimpica competition in Acapulco (MEX)
Good results for the Italians in both the men's and women's Olympic Pit competition during the skeet shooting world championships. The World Championships, which this year will be held in Acapulco in Mexico, will end today 10 March 2010. The bronze medal in the Women's Olympic Pit was awarded to the shooter Gelisio Deborah, just turned 34, in force in the Group Forestry sportsman.
Certainly better results for the Men's Olympic Pit competition. In fact, he was awarded the silver medal Resca Daniele (Carabinieri) from Bologna who graduated as Italian champion only in the past 2009. Unfortunately neither Pellielo Giovanni nor Mauro De Filippis were able to get on the podium, despite still leading an excellent competition.
Pellielo Giovanni (Fiamme Azzurre) from Vercelli, who was the winner of the silver medal at the Olympic Games held in Beijing in 2008, managed to finish fifth. Mauro de Filippis (Fiamme Oro) from Taranto, on the other hand, managed to reach only the thirteenth position.
The three Italian representatives at the World Championships in Acapulco nevertheless put the team gold medal around their necks managing to pass India and America, respectively classified in second and third position.
