It was presented in Riva del Garda, as part of theOutdoor Business Day, The first edition of Zamberlan Prize dedicated to short stories on the experience of the "journey". An award established by the homonymous and ancient shoe factory at the foot of the Little Dolomites that wants to give space to the narrative creativity of those who go along mountain, hill and plain trails. If in recent years the Belpaese has in fact become "land of paths and walkers”The reason, beyond the dense network of paths, is that walking has increasingly become an experience of encounter, adventure, meditation, health and faith.
Great walkers were Nietzsche, Rimbaud, Rousseau and Kant as well as, of course, Caesar, St. Francis, St. Anthony, Gandhi, Livingstone and many others whose path has shaped the world of conquests, religion and rebellion. . An experience of walking, consequently, which over the centuries has changed the meaning of meaning, passing from penance to exploration, from migration to mountaineering and from literary inspiration to physical exercise.
Il announcement of the award it will be available for download from November on the website www.premiozamberlan.it and thus take a look at the methods and times for sending writings (40.000 characters max) or podcasts (10/15 minutes; a novelty in the national panorama of literary awards). The announcement of the finalists and winners will take place on 7 and 8 October 2023 at Podere la Torre di Schio, a location of 26 hectares of shrubs and plants scattered between the hills and the plain that surround with their colors swimming pools, lake, restaurant, bistro, hotel and farms.
The winners will receive a Montegrappa jewel pen worth € 4.000 (writing section) and € 2.000 (podcast section), while the other two finalists in the category will be supplied by Zamberlan and, as the first classified, they will see their stories published in the volume Short stories of people on the road (Maggioli Editore). In the final week of the Zamberlan Prize, the Walking Authors Festival, the K2 Exhibition, the Identity Open Factory in the historic companies of the area and the walk on the Romea Strata in the Pievebelvicino-Eremo San Colombano stretch (about 70 kilometers) are scheduled.
The Honorary Committee of the Literary prize (which includes Michela Soldà, Emanuela Lacedelli, Daniela Zanettin, Riccarda Castagna, Don Raimondo Sinibaldi) is chaired by Giorgio Xoccato (entrepreneur), while Paolo Sbalchiero (library director) leads the Jury. Responsible director and project director are Claudio Angaran (company manager) and Claudio Ruggiero (essayist and writer) respectively. The initiative is sponsored by the municipalities of Torrebelvicino, Valli del Pasubio (Vicenza) and Vallarsa (Trento), and relies on the collaboration and support of Cammini Veneti and Romea Strata.
Among objectives of the Award there are the enhancement of walking, of territorial identity, of the best relationship of man with the environment and, last but not least, economic support (as it already is for the Romea Strata) to projects of paths and of routes that enhance the landscape and "the slow way of the wayfarer".
