In 2022 the brand decides to enter a particularly interesting field such as observation optics, binoculars in particular, suitable for naturalistic investigation which is so fashionable today, and for hunting with rifled barrels, also practiced with passion by many enthusiasts. The basic technology is a solid foundation on which a search for modern lines adhering to comfortable functionality is grafted: this is the dominant theme of the company product that we find in the binoculars entrusted to us by Andy De Santis, a well-known and appreciated character in the optics and weapons, to which Ziel has entrusted the care of the recent line of articles. The salient points of the new path are two, treated with great attention so as to offer customers instruments with a valid performance and an interesting price: the famous quality/price ratio is still a subject seriously examined by anyone who wants to acquire a specific and precisely the optics sector allows a wide range of assessments. First of all, we need a weighted consideration of what is actually needed for the purpose we have set ourselves and, together, an examination of what we really manage to perceive of the different prerogatives of a specific tool. The X-Pro 8×34 model
The binoculars offered by the company have five variants subtended by the magnification values in the classic 8x and 10x with objective lenses of 26, 34 and 42 mm: we consider the minimum size a small space that is useful in a backpack or in a jacket pocket when you go to walk wanting, from time to time, to take a look at the surrounding nature or, as an old friend who loves hunting and art underlined, to better appreciate the friezes and details of a period building. All in all, the 8 magnification values already offer a vast solution in naturalistic investigation, even in open mountain areas, and the 34 mm lenses, with those 2 mm more than the classic 32 standard, adequately fulfill the request of brightness in the twilight hours together with portability (lightness how much you are appreciated) and definition. The performances can be well verified in the field, especially in the observation of elusive and usually stationary wild animals among plants, shrubs and branches: what is defined as the ability to detach the mimetic subject from the background in which it slips away from view remains a primary quality and Ziel reveals a good performance.
Handling is ensured by the low weight of 430 g, the compact shape deriving from the roof prism lenses, the double bridge with adequate rigidity in the accommodation movements of the two tubes, the favorably positioned focus wheel and the right friction. The materials are carefully chosen starting from the metal of the hull to arrive at the optical glasses with particular attention to weight and intrinsic performance: in favor of the latter the adoption of 34 mm lenses thanks to which it improves, in addition to already expressed above, the view of the observation field with 124 m at a distance of 1.000 m.
The tests in various situations confirm the balance of the product with that quality-price ratio determined by the required currency set at €208,00. Really a tool to be taken into consideration to add to what you already have an element suitable for different situations or to start a new practice as observers without having to have substantial amounts of money for the purchase.
