Duck hunting with rising temperatures and thawing of frozen puddles can represent, with the combination of mild climate and rain, a challenge with ducks that have new food resources available. New resources are available everywhere and waterfowl often disperse. We encountered just this situation in the last two days of our duck hunting trip in Oklahoma. It took a bad day of hunting and an entire afternoon of scouting to understand how the ducks behaved in the changing weather conditions. The end result was worth the day spent shooting to earn a splendid hunt on some body of water on the edge of some field.
