FORLI 'AT THE FAIR: MORE THAN 8000 VISITORS FOR "ROOTS", HUNTING AND FISHING FAIR
FORLI '- Over 8.000 people crowded the pavilion of the Forlì Fair for 'Radici' over the weekend. Children, adults, hunters, lovers of trekking and walking, mushroom, truffle and botany hunters and sportsmen, united by a passion for nature and outdoor activities, have found the opportunity to have fun, play, shop and learn more about the dozens and dozens of existing species, most of which also in our Apennines.
The presence of visitors also coming from Marche, Tuscany, Verona and Rovigo, as well as from all over Romagna, confirms that the event - this year in its second edition - it is making itself known throughout Central and Northern Italy, since it is the only one dedicated to these issues in the geographical area of reference.
"The growth of the event, and in particular of visitors (+ 20% compared to last year) went hand in hand with an increase in the offer of exhibitors that affected all three thematic areas of the event - says the president of the Fair. Giorgio Lombardi who created “Radici.
Civilization of Hunting, Fishing and Harvesting ”last year-. In this second edition we have managed to increase the proposals in each of the reference areas of the event, achieving the objectives we set ourselves when we conceived the event. After all, the vast majority of hunting or fishing enthusiasts have not only that one passion: precisely because they love being outdoors in contact with nature, they are often also mushroom or truffle hunters. It is with this awareness that "Radici" was designed to combine these paths in a complete way and offer the public a varied and complementary proposal ".
The peculiarity of the event to present alongside a commercial offer also didactic-educational paths moves its heart from a simple market exhibition to a "popular" event aimed at families, a moment in which to deepen one's knowledge, find answers to questions concerning everyday practice: the uses of medicinal plants and mushrooms (through the initiatives of the mycological groups), the animal species that populate our lands (through an exhibition gallery on ungulates conceived by Urca), the use of working dogs, the fish species that populate our waters, etc. In this context, the conferences organized by the Emilia Romagna Region, ATC and URCA of the Province of Forlì-Cesena, ENCI, in which technicians and professionals have found a moment of confrontation with those involved in the management of wildlife and of the territory and which have met with positive interest from the public.
Alongside reflection and educational paths, "Roots. Civilization of Hunting, Fishing and Harvesting " has also been able to combine the game and the playful aspect with fishing lessons for adults and children, the truffle hunting competitions that took place in the outdoor area, or laser clay pigeon shooting, or even the shooting competition with the bow, which involved audiences of all ages without distinction. From amateur to professional competitions, at the Fair the best fly lure manufacturers for fishing were awarded, the most skilled in sport fishing (through a competition that involved a fishing reserve and put all its patrons in competition) and the best hunter who has established himself in the 10 real hunting trials, for which technical sponsors, sports equipment, and an organized stay in Austria with access to fishing reserves for sports have been made available.
Finally, even those who do not practice hunting or fishing firsthand appreciated the game-based dishes proposed by the restaurateurs present at the Fair who were sold out, setting the table for hundreds and hundreds of customers at a time, who took turns in the gastronomic area of the event to taste the delicacies proposed by the chefs / hunters grappling with first and second courses based on roe deer, venison, wild boar. For 2010, the event aims to consolidate its offer and continue to speak, increasingly, to everyone: the “popular” cut of the initiative allows it to communicate with everyone, overcoming the idea of being only an event that speaks to hunters.
