Hunting in Lombardy: the Region examines the draft law on the levy in derogation which delegates the application of the hunting regime in derogation to the Provinces.
The Agriculture, Hunting, Parks Commission of the Lombardy Region approved the draft law governing hunting in derogation for starling (sturnus vulgaris), chaffinch (fringilla coelebs), brambling (fringilla montifringilla), pispola (anthus pratensis) and frosone (coccothraustes) coccothraustes).
With the provision in question, the Region delegates to the Provinces the application of the hunting regime derogation exclusively for the five species indicated in the draft law. The hunting activity can be practiced in the period from October 1st to November 30th except on Tuesdays and Fridays considered to be of "hunting silence".
The maximum total number of animals that can possibly be taken for each species and for each province will be established on the basis of the overall regional limits identified according to the respect of small quantities. However, each hunter will be able to collect a maximum number of ten animals per day for each species.
The next step towards approval is the examination by the Regional Council scheduled for next Tuesday 25 September 2012.
