Hunting and Fauna: Palermo, other wild boars sighted on Monte Pellegrino after the alarm launched a few months ago.
A few months ago the news of sightings, by experts, of a herd of wild boars wandering on Monte Pellegrino, the promontory overlooking Palermo; then no initiatives were taken regarding the story because in the following weeks the animals seemed to have left the area but a few days ago excrements and footprints were found confirming the presence of ungulates on the hill. The concerns concern above all possible dangers for the population since the herd of wild boars could be quite numerous and become really dangerous if they get too close to homes or urbanized areas, perhaps in search of food.
