In the WWF and other environmental associations this time they take it out on the hunters of the Torre Torrente Park near Udine.
The request is to revoke the hunting permit in the Park that extends over the area that runs along the Torre torrent so that there are no longer any dangers for citizens who are not hunters who go to the Park to practice physical activity.
The park extends over the districts of the municipality of Udine, Povoletto, Remanzacco and Pradamano and sees every day the coexistence between ordinary citizens who go there for simple walks, bicycle rides, sports activities in general and hunters regularly authorized to hunt in the same area.
According to environmentalists, the situation of the park as it currently is would be a risk to the safety of these ordinary citizens and asking that hunting cannot be practiced within it, they cite an article of Law 157/92 on hunting and wildlife protection, specifically article 21 letter a which thus states, "It is forbidden for anyone to hunting in gardens, public and private parks, historical and archaeological parks and land used for sporting activities ".
In favor of their thesis, environmentalists cite a similar precedent represented by the Bosco di Mestre where the Mayor of Venice, with its own ordinance of last September, prohibited hunting in the Park area for the entire duration of the hunting season. The reasons would be found in the deemed incompatibility between the activity of hunters inside the Park and its use by visitors, tourists and school groups, and in order to avoid unpleasant incidents against public safety and security.
