BALLISTIC TESTS
For ballistic tests a Remington Model 870 Express Super Magnum rifle was used, with a 28 inch (71,12 cm) barrel, on which the pump action system with Full Choke is installed. The material used for the tests is in common use. .
The first test targeted a car plate, placed 5 meters away: an irregularly shaped hole about 12 centimeters long and about 9 inches wide was created, with the plate moving towards the rear. about 20 centimeters. Right in the rear part of the plate, the "three petals" were created, produced by the sheet metal folded upon impact.
The second test consisted of using a 4-inch thick pine board, placed two meters away: the result was an irregular entry hole of about 3 inches in diameter.
The distance from the same plank was later increased, five meters away, where there was significant destruction of the wood, leaving one of its sides almost severed.
As for the entrance hole, it had an irregular shape of six inches in diameter.
The third test featured a car tire, placed two meters away: the impact with the pellets produced a hole of about 2,8 centimeters.
Placed at five meters, the impact did not produce a significant hole, even though it caused the same shot crossing from side to side of the tire, even if a certain accumulation of pellets could be noticed.
Final Conclusions
The tests mentioned above could show us that we are dealing with very powerful cartridges and it must be borne in mind that 64 gram ammunition is being used, which must be "moved" when fired. The thing that can be deduced for sure is that Remington Express Long Range BB Caliber 12/89 Super Magnum once again provides quality, powerful and safe ammunition.
