The Tuscan TAR has rejected the suspension of the Hunting Calendar of the Province of Siena with regard to wild boar hunting in unsuitable areas.
In recent days, the judges of the TAR of Tuscany have rejected the request for suspension, advanced by 300 hunters, of the resolution adopted last September by the Province of Siena which regulates wild boar hunting in unsuitable (or white) areas. At present - at least until the hearing on the merits of the appeal presented is held - wild boar hunting in the white areas is allowed in the manner established by the Hunting Calendar and the commitment and sense of responsibility of all hunters to achieve the goal set by the resolution: drastically reduce the presence of ungulates, responsible for damage to agricultural crops and the main cause of the numerous road accidents caused by wildlife.
In the white areas, therefore, until 31 December 2012 and as defined by the Province, hunting for wild boar remains open, even with the use of the dog, both in single form and in groups consisting of a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 9 hunters enrolled in the ATC, in compliance with all the requirements set out in the calendar.
In the same period, wild boar hunting in unsuitable areas will also be allowed in hunt, but only for teams already registered in the Management Districts, with a minimum of 18 hunters registered with prior authorization from the ATC Management Committee.
In the designated area, wild boar hunting is allowed to teams assigned to the Management Districts from 1 November 2012 to 31 January 2013, exclusively in the form of the hunt.
