Joseph Castiglione, undersecretary al Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, has answered in these hours to a question of the Movement 5 Stars which involved hunting. Castiglione spoke in the Chamber of Deputies, explaining how the updating of the wildlife-hunting plans to identify the territories to be used for the establishment of wildlife-hunting companies and private centers of wildlife reproduction in its natural state is an exclusively regional competence.
For the undersecretary, these local authorities take care of the plans every five years and the exclusivity on the subject concerns the approval and application of documents. Therefore, the Government cannot intervene in any case. The pentastellata question had underlined that only ten regions of our country have a wildlife plan and just 4 are involved inupdating of the same.
It is not the first time that the Movement has dealt with hunting issues. In February 2016, almost two years ago, there was a question to the same Ministry to improve the psycho-physical assessments of aged hunters between 65 and 75 years. According to the 5 Stars, in fact, the repeated accidents would be the consequence of high average age shotguns, a situation to improve to be explored according to their point of view.
